Borderlands split screen pc

Borderlands Splitscreen? I have done a little research and heard that there is a way to get it to run in split screen but I have no idea . I tired googling it I got a few I got a no,yes and a yes if you have a beefy pc with some mod tools. I want to get borderlands but why no split screen on PC ?
